The Ins and Outs of the Microblading Healing Process

Aug 04, 2022

So, you’re thinking of taking the leap and perfecting your eyebrows with microblading. We want you to love every step as well as the outcome, which is why we’re committed to giving our clients an in-depth look at what they can expect after their procedure.

From what is normal to how long you can expect the healing process to take, with the information provided and included self-care tips, you can make the best decision for you.

Day-by-Day Microblading Healing Process

If you don’t know what to expect, microblading can seem like a daunting experience. To help prepare you for your session, we offer you a day-by-day look at what you can expect following your appointment.

Days 1-3: Eyebrows look full and have a darker shade. Don’t worry about the intensity as it will fade to a more natural look. You also might notice some redness, tenderness, and mild swelling.

Days 3-5: This is when the color will be most intense as the redness starts to fade.

Days 5-8: Eyebrows will start to flake as color begins to fade. Avoid picking at the scabs.

Days 8-12: Flaking will have stopped or is minimal.

Days 12-21: Color and texture start to look more natural.

Days 21-30: Skin has healed and there is no more redness, tenderness, or flaking.

Microblading Dry Healing

Dry healing prevents the color from lifting, but it can also cause a lot of scabbing and redness during the healing process.

Dry healing works when you don’t get your brows wet. This includes when you wash your face, shower, and do water activities like swimming. Even intense exercise that causes you to sweat can compromise dry dealing. You want to keep the brows as dry as possible.

Microblading Wet Healing

Wet healing has become more popular because it allows you to get remarkable results but without as much scabbing and redness.

Wet healing involves cleansing the brows with an approved permanent makeup cleanser solution that is specifically designed for your brows. How often you clean the area will be recommended by your brow artist, but once at night and once in the morning is typical.

While there is more work for you to do with wet healing in comparison to dry healing, the color tends to be more even with this method, and you’ll likely notice that your microblading before and after is more natural and professional in appearance.

Microblading Aftercare

Prior to booking, clients want to know how committed they need to be to their new brows. They often wonder is microblading permanent

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique. While you will require touch-ups, you expect to enjoy your newly microbladed brows for a year or two. Proper brow care is a key factor in how long your brows last and how good they look.

Microblading aftercare should not be complicated and the less you do, the better. Don’t apply a lot of products to the area, and avoid scrubbing or using any exfoliating products. None of these practices will speed healing.

If you’re not sure if your current cleanser will work on your newly microbladed brows, consult with your technician prior to leaving your appointment. Using a cleanser that is too harsh could result in your brows fading prematurely.

The right makeup can be life changing! But each person is different. This means there isn’t one style that’s universally perfect for everyone. Are you hoping to find the right personal makeup style for you? Here is a complete guide to achieving that goal and giving yourself the look and feel you’ve always been dreaming of. What Is Your Everyday Makeup Routine? Your personal makeup style should fit into your routine. If you’re a person who wakes up early each day or who has a lot of time in the morning to get ready, you can likely choose a look that requires more effort than if you’re living an active lifestyle or if you routinely find yourself running late in the morning. Remember, this style is about you. It’s supposed to be personal and that means it needs to work with your routine. Yes, you can certainly switch things up when it’s time for an evening out or a big occasion, but you’ll want to first focus on creating an everyday style that works with your life. How Long Do You Spend on Your Makeup? As mentioned, your personal makeup style will depend greatly on how much time you have each day. It will also depend on how much time you want to spend on makeup. Some people enjoy having a lineup of products and going through a complex multi-stage routine everyday. Others want something that’s relatively quick and easy. There are looks that work for just about any lifestyle, so don’t feel like you’re missing out if you’re not the kind of person who will spend a lengthy time applying makeup. Also, if you don’t want to spend a long time on your makeup each day , permanent makeup options could be right for you. Do You Prefer a Natural or Dramatic Look? Do you want something that stands out from the crowd and gives you a dramatic look? Or are you hoping for something more natural? Both options can be beautiful, so it’s really up to personal preference. What sort of image do you want to portray? Let this guide you when you’re putting together a makeup style. What Colors Do You Wear? There will naturally be certain colors that you’re attracted to. Think about the clothes, shoes, and jewelry you wear. Do any sort of trends stick out? If you find that you really like you’re appearance when you’re wearing certain colors, there’s a good chance that these are the colors that best go with your skin tone and your overall look. You can then try to incorporate some of these colors into your makeup style. You may need to do some experimentation to see what works best for you. A color that may not work on your eyes might look great on your lips, for example, so try out a variety of looks and options and then go with what you feel works best. Often trial and error is the best way to find a makeup style that fits. How Do Want to Feel? Everyone wears makeup for different reasons. Some people wear it to smooth their skin and give themselves a more even or more contoured appearance. Others use it to accentuate certain features. You might be wearing makeup because you want to blend in, or you could be doing it to stand out. Think about how you want to feel, then create a look that gives you this feeling. We can help you discover the cosmetic tattoo techniques and makeup styles that are perfect for you.
